Image Trails

Keeps the last frames of any image and lets them fade out over a set time. Echo keeps 1–15 frames behind the newest, each fading Fade seconds after a newer one replaced it; Feedback leaves an endless trail; Average steadies flicker; Median removes a single wrong frame without any trail. Made for restless masks too: a Person Segmentation that flickers or drops a frame keeps the previous one or two in place, fading, so the gap is never seen. Combine Max keeps a mask’s shape, Over layers ghosts.

Inputs

PortTypeDefault
EnableOff clears the output and forgets the kept frames.booltrue
ImageAny image. A frame is kept only when the source really has a new one, so a mask updated 15 times a second keeps 15 a second at any render rate.image—
ModeEcho — the last Frames, each fading out after a newer one replaced it. Feedback — an endless trail. Average — the mean of the last Frames, calms flicker without growing the shape. Median — a single wrong or empty frame is voted out, no trail at all.int0
FramesHow many frames are kept, 1–15 (Echo, Average, Median). For a mask that drops a frame now and then: Echo 2–3 or Median 3. Each kept frame costs one output-sized texture of GPU memory.int3
FadeSeconds until a frame behind the newest has faded out (Echo), or until the trail is gone (Feedback). Short (0.1–0.3) bridges a flickering mask; long (1–3) draws ghost trails.float0.5
CombineHow the kept frames lie on each other. Over — ghosts, newer on top. Max — the brightest wins: a mask keeps its full shape while the old part fades. Add — trails glow brighter where they overlap.int0
