Get Image Size
Measures the image on the cable. Width and Height come out in GRAFIT UNITS — what the image would occupy drawn 1:1 pixel on the render output (the shorter output edge is always 2 units) — plus the Aspect ratio and the raw Pixel Width/Height. Built for the crop workflow: crop an image, cable the result through here, and lay out the rest of the patch in its new honest size. It measures the TEXTURE: file images, crops and custom-size textures report their content exactly; a full-viewport generator reports the full canvas, because that IS its texture — the drawn shape's own size lives on the generator's Width/Height ports.
Inputs
| Port | Type |
|---|---|
| ImageThe image to measure. The node reads the ACTUAL texture on the cable: file images and crops report their content exactly; a full-viewport generator reports the full canvas, because that is its texture — the drawn shape's own size lives on the generator's Width/Height ports. | image |

| Pixel Height | int |
How It Works
Get Image Size is the ruler for image cables. It reports the image on the cable in three currencies at once:
- Width and Height in Grafit units — what the texture would occupy drawn 1:1 pixel on the render output, where the shorter output edge is always 2 units.
- Aspect — the ratio, for anything that needs to preserve it.
- Pixel Width and Pixel Height — the raw texture dimensions.
It measures the texture, and it is worth being precise about what that means. File images, crops and custom-size textures report their content exactly. A full-viewport generator reports the full canvas, because that genuinely is its texture — the drawn shape's own size lives on that generator's own Width and Height ports.
Use Cases
- The crop workflow — Crop an image, cable the result through here, and lay out the rest of the patch in its new honest size.
- Preserve aspect — Drive a Canvas layer's height from the width times the measured Aspect, and a photo never stretches.
- Fit to a box — Compare the measured size against a target and compute the scale that fits.
- Pixel-exact work — Pixel Width/Height tell a shader or a recorder the real resolution it is dealing with.
- Debug a chain — Cable it in anywhere to answer "how big is this texture actually".
Tips
- Remember the Grafit convention: the shorter edge of the render output spans 2 units, so a landscape output is wider than 2.
- For "how big is the shape I drew", read the generator's Width/Height, not this node — this node measures the canvas the shape was drawn on.
- Pair with Crop Image: crop first, then measure, and the numbers describe the content.
- Aspect is a plain ratio, so it can be cabled into any width-from-height calculation with a single Math node.
