Network node

Sync Time

Shares one time across Grafit instances. On one set Role = Master and cable a Timeline position, a clock or any value into Time; on the others Role = Slave with the same Name — through a WebSocket Client connected to the Grafit Data Server, or on a local network to a WebSocket Server node in one of the Grafits (its own Sync nodes cable to the server directly). Transport mode (for anything that runs like a clock: a Timeline, a video position) sends only where it is and how fast it runs when that changes; every instance, the master too, computes the position itself from its synced clock — smooth, no drift, cable it into Scrub or Time inputs to animate machines together. Value mode shares any float (an LFO, the mouse), played out Delay ms behind so every instance shows the same value at the same moment. Transport changes (pause, seek, speed) are scheduled Delay ms ahead so everyone applies them at the same moment. Auto Delay (on) picks the Delay from the slowest slave's measured network delay, on the master; slaves follow the master's choice (Delay Used).

Inputs

PortTypeDefault
ConnectionA WebSocket Client pointed at the Grafit Data Server, or on a local network at a Grafit WebSocket Server (pick it in the Client's URL menu) — or that WebSocket Server itself. Master and slaves must reach the same one.structure—
RoleMaster shares its Time, Slave follows it. One master per Name; any number of slaves, on other computers or in the same project.int1
NameThe shared time's name: the same on master and slaves. Type it and press Return, or pick one the server already knows.string
ModeTransport: for anything that runs like a clock (a Timeline, a video position) — only play, pause, seek and speed travel; every instance computes the position itself, smooth and drift-free. Value: any float, sent as samples and played out Delay ms behind.int0
TimeMaster: the time or value to share — a Timeline position, a Time node's Seconds, an LFO, the mouse.float0
PlayingMaster, Transport: cable a play state here to pause everyone exactly. Uncabled, the rate is read from how Time moves.booltrue
DelayMaster, Auto Delay off: Value mode — how far behind the shared clock every instance shows the value; Transport — how far ahead a pause, seek or speed change is scheduled so everyone applies it together. Longer than the slowest network delay.float400
EnableOff leaves the name and holds the last value.booltrue
Auto DelayMaster: the Delay is chosen from the slowest slave's measured network delay (+30 % and 20 ms), as short as is safe; 400 ms until the slaves have reported. Slaves always use the master's choice (Delay Used). Off: the Delay you set.booltrue
