OSC Sender

Send OSC messages over UDP network.

Inputs

PortTypeDefault
EnableOff closes the UDP connection and stops sending; on reconnects using the host, port and rate from the Settings tab.booltrue

Outputs

PortType
Connectedbool

How It Works

Sends OSC messages over UDP to a configured host and port. Create input ports by clicking the "+" button and naming them with OSC address paths (e.g., /volume, /color/r). Each input value is sent as an OSC message to the corresponding address whenever the value changes. The destination host and port are configured in Settings. Supports float values as OSC arguments.

Use Cases

  • Controlling lighting software or visual tools from Grafit
  • Sending processed data to audio environments like Ableton Live or Max/MSP
  • Driving parameters in other OSC-compatible applications in real time
  • Creating a multi-application performance setup with OSC as the communication backbone

Tips

  • Name each dynamic input with a valid OSC address path starting with "/" (e.g., /mixer/fader1)
  • Configure the destination host and port in app Settings
  • Connect LFO, Math, or other processing nodes to the inputs for automated parameter control
  • OSC messages are sent over UDP, which is fast but does not guarantee delivery — suitable for real-time control, not critical data
