Ramp

A single-channel value ramp (0–1) — the one-channel sibling of Gradient. Where Gradient shapes color, Ramp shapes a single value with full multi-stop falloff control: place stops to make a value rise sharply then plateau, ease out, or pulse. Drives any node that accepts a ramp — notably the Particle Emitter's Opacity Ramp.

What It Does

Ramp is a one-channel gradient: a curve of values from 0 to 1 you shape with multi-stop control. Use it wherever a single value needs a custom falloff rather than a plain linear fade — most directly, the Particle Emitter's Opacity Ramp for shaping how particles fade over their life.

The Stop Editor

Same pro interaction as the Gradient editor, but each stop carries a single value (shown as a gray level on the bar) instead of a color. Drag a stop along the bar to move it, tap the bar to add one, and select a stop to set its value with a slider or delete it. Add stops to sculpt any shape — fast-in then hold, slow ease-out, a mid-life bump, and so on.

Using It

The Ramp output is a readable { stopN:{pos, value} } structure; you can also drive it procedurally from a connected Stops structure. Connect it to a node that samples a ramp — e.g. the Particle Emitter's Opacity Ramp port for a real over-life opacity curve, or its Emissive Ramp port to shape glow over life (flash at birth, late glow, pulse).
