Color Blob
One colour group's blob from a connected Color Analysis, rendered as an image: a precise full-resolution cutout of the picked Index -- the original pixels, the base colour, the subtone quantize, or white -- optionally limited to the LARGEST connected blob (the one whose outline the structure carries), with a perceptual soft edge, an Outline style riding that edge, and a Tint. Art and mask in one node: composite it, feed it to particle fields, Flow Maps, colliders. The group's Color and Coverage ride along.
Inputs
| Port | Type | Default |
|---|---|---|
| ImageCable the Image output of a Color Analysis node here — that connection is what tells this node which palette and which source picture to cut from. | image | — |
| EnableOff clears the output to fully transparent. | bool | true |
| IndexWhich colour group from the analysis to cut out, counting from 0. Values past the last group pick the last one. | int | 0 |
| StyleFill paints the whole blob, Outline draws only a rim riding its edge, Both does the two together. Values outside the list snap to the nearest. | int | 0 |
| FillWhat the blob is painted with: the Original pixels for a clean cutout, the flat Base Color, the Subtones quantize, or White for a mask. Values outside the list snap to the nearest. | int | 0 |
| ScopeLargest Blob keeps only the biggest connected region of that colour, All Regions keeps every scattered patch of it. | int | 0 |
| SoftnessHow gradual the edge is, measured on colour distance rather than screen blur. Clamped to 0…1; 0 gives a hard cut, though Outline styles always keep a hairline gradient. | float | 0.1 |
| Outline WidthThickness of the rim band, as a share of the soft edge it rides. Clamped to 0.01…1; widen Softness first if the rim looks too thin. | float | 0.3 |
| TintMultiplies the fill colour and its alpha — white leaves it untouched, a colour stains it, lowering alpha fades the whole blob. | color | (1, 1, 1, 1) |

How It Works
Color Blob renders one colour group from a connected Color Analysis as a finished image: a precise, full-resolution cutout of the picked Index. Three ways to draw it — the ORIGINAL pixels of that region, the region REPAINTED in the group's colour, or a white silhouette TINTED by it — each available as fill, outline, or both, riding the same perceptual edge Color Mask uses.
Use Cases
- Colour-separated compositing — one blob per colour, stacked on Canvas layers with different treatments.
- Cut-out collage — the original pixels of just one colour, floating on a new background.
- Outline art — outline mode traces the colour region as a drawn contour.
Tips
- Blob is an image, so Image Adjustment, Image Transform and Composite all apply to it.
- Pair blobs with Lines Visualize fed from the Colors structure for outline plus web in matching colours.
