Vision node
Body Skeleton
Draws a live stick-figure from Vision Tracking body data — joints + bones with per-person colors, confidence fade, motion trails, post-process bloom glow, optional 3D depth, and labels. High-performance instanced rendering (one draw call for the whole figure and all trails).
Inputs
| Port | Type | Default |
|---|---|---|
| EnableOff draws no figure; the motion trail empties out with it. | bool | true |
| BodyThe tracked pose data. Cable Vision Tracking's Body output here. | json | — |
| PersonWhich tracked person to draw. All draws everyone; a single index draws only that slot and shows nothing while that slot is empty. | int | -1 |
| Per-Person ColorsGives each tracked person its own colour from a palette of eight, overriding the joint and bone colours. | bool | false |
| Show JointsDraws a dot at every tracked joint. | bool | true |
| Joint SizeRadius of the joint dots in Grafit units. Negative values act as 0; around 0.01 reads well at normal figure size. | float | 0.01 |
| Joint ColorColour of the joint dots. Ignored while Per-Person Colors is on. | color | — |
| Show BonesDraws the lines connecting the joints into a stick figure. | bool | true |
| Bone ThicknessThickness of the bone lines in Grafit units. Negative values act as 0; 0.004 is a fine hairline. | float | 0.004 |
| Bone ColorColour of the bone lines. Ignored while Per-Person Colors is on. | color | — |
| Min ConfidenceHides joints and bones the tracker is unsure about. Only 0…1 is meaningful — above 1 nothing passes and the figure disappears. | float | 0.1 |
| Confidence FadeHow much an uncertain joint also fades out. Clamped to 0…1: 0 draws everything solid, 1 fades opacity all the way down with confidence. | float | 1.0 |
| OpacityTransparency of the whole figure. Useful 0…1; higher values do not make it more than solid. | float | 1.0 |
| 3D DepthHow strongly per-joint depth foreshortens the figure around its root. Only does anything on 3D tracking data; 0 is flat and negative flips which side comes forward. | float | 1.0 |
| 3D PerspectiveCamera distance used for that depth effect — lower is a stronger, more dramatic bend. Held at 0.2 or above. | float | 4.0 |
| GlowBloom power around the figure; 0 is off. Negative acts as 0, and past roughly 2 the glow swallows the lines themselves. | float | 0.0 |
| Glow SpreadHow wide the bloom spreads, from Tight to Very Wide. Clamped to 1…5. | int | 4 |
| Glow CutoffOnly pixels brighter than this take part in the bloom. Clamped to 0…1; 0 glows everything drawn. | float | 0.0 |
| TrailHow many past frames echo behind the figure. Clamped to 0…500; 0 turns trails off. | int | 0 |
| Trail FadeHow fast each older echo fades away. Clamped to 0…1. | float | 0.6 |
| Trail SpacingKeeps an echo only every Nth frame, so the same echo count reaches further back in time. Values below 1 act as 1. | int | 0 |
| Show Joint LabelsWrites each joint's name next to its dot. | bool | false |
| Label SizeText size of the labels. Held at 0.01 or above. | float | 0.4 |
| Label QualityGlyph rendering resolution — Low 256px, Medium 512px, High 1024px. Values outside those three snap to the nearest. | int | 0 |
| Label ColorColour of the joint labels. Person labels always take the joint colour instead. | color | — |
| Show Person LabelsWrites P0, P1 and so on above each tracked person's head. | bool | false |
| Person Label OffsetHow far above the head the person label sits, as a fraction of the nose-to-neck distance. Any value works; negative drops it over the face. | float | 0.2 |

What It Does
Body Skeleton turns Vision Tracking's body data into a live stick figure — dots for joints, lines (bones) between them — that mirrors the person in front of the camera. It's the fastest way to get a striking motion-capture visual.
How It Works
Connect Vision Tracking's Body output. The node draws every joint and bone — and every motion-trail echo — as a single batched GPU draw call, so even a crowd with long trails stays smooth. Choose one person or draw everyone; turn on Per-Person Colors to give each their own hue. Low-confidence limbs can fade out (Confidence Fade) so flaky tracking looks intentional rather than glitchy.
Glow & Trails
Two effects make it pop:
- Glow — a real post-process bloom. Power sets brightness, Spread sets how wide the halo blooms, and Cutoff chooses how much blooms — together they give a neon look.
- Trails — ghost echoes of past frames. Trail sets how many, Trail Fade how fast they vanish, and Trail Spacing stretches them over time for long, flowing motion ribbons.
3D Depth
When Vision Tracking is in 3D Pose mode, each joint carries depth. Body Skeleton then foreshortens the figure around the hips — a hand reaching toward the camera grows larger, a leg stepping back shrinks — for a genuine sense of three dimensions. 3D Depth exaggerates the effect; 3D Perspective controls how strong the perspective is.
Parameters
| Parameter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Person | Draw one person, or all (−1). |
| Per-Person Colors | Give each tracked person a distinct color. |
| Joint Size / Bone Thickness | Size of the dots and lines. |
| Min Confidence / Confidence Fade | Hide or fade uncertain joints. |
| Glow / Glow Spread / Glow Cutoff | Bloom power, width, and threshold. |
| Trail / Trail Fade / Trail Spacing | Motion-trail count, decay, and time spread. |
| 3D Depth / 3D Perspective | Depth exaggeration and perspective strength (3D mode). |
| Labels | Joint names and a per-person "P0" label. |
Examples
- Neon dancer — thin bones + high Glow + a long Trail = flowing light ribbons that follow movement.
- Group installation — Per-Person Colors so a crowd lights up in different hues.
- 3D punch — 3D Pose + 3D Depth so a punch toward the camera visibly lunges forward.
Tips
- For the strongest neon, use thin Bone Thickness with high Glow.
- Long trails: combine a high Trail with Trail Spacing > 1 for ribbons that stretch over seconds.
- Hand Skeleton and Face Skeleton are the matching nodes for hands and faces.
