DMX Channel Map
Map named inputs to DMX channel addresses for Art-Net output.

How It Works
Creates a human-readable mapping between named control values and DMX channel addresses. Add input ports by clicking "+" and assign each to a specific DMX channel number (1 through 512). Each input accepts a float value from 0 to 255 representing the intensity for that channel. The output structure is formatted as a dictionary with channel numbers as keys and intensity values as values, ready for direct connection to a DMX Sender node. This provides a clear, labeled interface for DMX channel assignment instead of working with raw channel numbers.
Use Cases
- Creating a named control panel for DMX lighting fixtures
- Mapping descriptive labels (e.g., "Stage Left Red", "Spot Brightness") to DMX channels
- Building reusable DMX fixture profiles with meaningful port names
- Organizing complex DMX universes into manageable, labeled groups
Tips
- Name your input ports descriptively (e.g., "Wash Red", "Spot Dimmer") for clarity
- Each input maps to exactly one DMX channel — assign the channel number in the inspector
- Values are float 0-255, matching standard DMX intensity levels
- Connect the Universe Data output directly to a DMX Sender node
- Use multiple DMX Channel Map nodes to organize channels by fixture or purpose, then merge with a Structure Merge node
