Audio Modular System

Modular synthesizer container. Double-click to enter and add Synth instruments; bring note streams in through the wildcard port and cable each to its synth.

Inputs

PortTypeDefault
EnableOff silences the whole container at once — the voice bank is dropped and ringing notes are cut, so re-enabling starts clean rather than resuming old tails.booltrue
BPMThe shared transport tempo every synced Pulse inside follows, keeping all patterns interlocked. Clamped to 20…300; cable it and the tempo itself becomes playable.float120
Master LevelOutput volume of everything inside. Clamped to 0…2 — above 1 it pushes the mix harder rather than adding headroom.float1
TransposeShifts every note the system plays, in semitones, rounded to whole steps. Any value works, but notes pushed outside the MIDI range simply do not sound.float0

How It Works

Audio Modular System is a synthesizer that lives in the graph as a container. Double-click to enter it and add instrument children — Aura, Drone, Stardust, Birds, Oriental Rhythm, Gamelan — plus pattern and control nodes (Pulse, Motion Mod, Composer). Note streams enter through the wildcard + input and each synth is cabled to its own source.

All the children render in ONE audio block, so there is a single clock and no drift between instruments. The container applies polyphony compensation and a safety limiter, so six keys swell instead of clipping, and it renders once per cycle no matter how many consumers pull on it.

Ports

BPM is the shared transport every Pulse and Composer phase-locks to (and it is cable-playable). Master Level is ramped across the buffer, so a knob drag never zippers. Transpose shifts the whole system. The Audio output is a first-class engine source — route it to Audio Output, or run it through the audio filter nodes; Notes, Level, Active Voices and Beat expose the performance as data.

Use Cases

  • An instrument inside the patch — visuals and sound from the same graph, on one clock.
  • Generative ensemble — several synths plus a Composer writing for all of them.
  • Play it live — MIDI Receiver or Hands to Notes into the wildcard input.

Tips

  • Voices retire by AUDIBILITY, not by a timer — long tails are never chopped.
  • Max Voices on each synth thins sounding chords click-free.
  • The system runs at the device's native sample rate; put effect nodes after it, not inside it.
