Array node
Array Min
Find the minimum value in a numeric array. Returns the smallest value, its index position, and the total element count.
Inputs
| Port | Type |
|---|---|
| ArrayThe list to scan for its smallest number. Non-numeric elements are skipped; with no numbers at all the value reads 0 and the index -1. | any |
Outputs
| Port | Type |
|---|---|
| Value | float |
| Index | int |
| Count | int |
How It Works
Array Min scans every numeric element and returns the smallest value found, along with its zero-based Index position. If multiple elements share the minimum value, the index of the first occurrence is returned.
Use Cases
- Signal floor detection: Find the lowest point in a waveform or sensor reading.
- Normalization: Use Min and Max together to remap array values to the 0–1 range.
- Threshold monitoring: Detect when the minimum value drops below a critical level.
- Index tracking: The Index output identifies which channel or sensor produced the lowest reading.
Tips
- Combine with Array Max to get the full range of values in an array.
- For complete statistics in a single node, use Array Stats which provides min, max, mean, median, std dev, and more.
