Particle Target Flight
Flies an emitter's particles to a target, like fireworks shells: cable Flight into a Particle Emitter, and the particles born together (one burst) become ONE shell — a cluster of strands winding around each other along a drawn path from where they are born to a random point inside the Target box, all arriving as their life ends, so the emitter's On Death bursts AT the target. Plies gathers the strands into 2–8 tight plies, so the shell flies as a twisted rope (Weave 0) or a braid (Weave 1). Flight Time sets the flight (0 = the emitter's Lifetime). Keep In View holds the path inside the camera's picture. The path leaves along the particle's launch velocity, bows up by Arc Height and drops onto the target; Style lays a loop, a wave, a corkscrew or a hook that swings out and drops back over it (or one at random per shell). Cable a 3D Mesh's Bounds Min and Bounds Max as the target and any shape you swap in is hit. A flying particle ignores forces and colliders.
Inputs
| Port | Type | Default |
|---|---|---|
| EnableOff: the emitter's particles fly free again under their forces. Shells already in the air drop their path where they are. | bool | true |
| ShowDraws the target box in every 3D Scene as cyan edges. | bool | false |
| Target MinOne corner of the target box, as a point — a 3D Mesh's Bounds Min, a Make Point. Empty = the scene origin. | structure | — |
| Target MaxThe opposite corner of the target box — a 3D Mesh's Bounds Max. Empty = Target Min, a single point. | structure | — |
| SpreadHow much of the box the targets are picked in (0–1): 1 anywhere inside it, 0.5 its middle half, 0 always its centre. | float | 1 |
| StyleThe figure flown on the way: Arc (none), Loop (a loop-the-loop mid-flight), Wave (a serpent), Corkscrew, Hook (swings out to the side and up, then drops back onto the target), or Random — a different one for every shell. | int | 5 |
| Arc HeightHow high the path bows above the straight line, as a fraction of the distance: 0 nearly straight, 0.35 a soft arc, 1 a high lob that drops onto the target. Negative dives under. | float | 0.35 |
| LaunchHow long the shell keeps its launch direction (the Velocity's — a muzzle) before turning toward the target, as a fraction of the distance (0–2). | float | 0.45 |
| SwirlSize of the Style's figure (0–4): 0 a plain arc for every style, 1 as designed, 2 wide loops and waves. Each shell varies it a little. | float | 1 |
| GlideSpeed along the path (0–0.9): 0 even, 0.55 bursts out of the muzzle, hangs mid-flight and dives into the target. Flight time stays the emitter's Lifetime. | float | 0.55 |
| SeedPicks a different set of target points and figures for the same shells. | int | 0 |
| Flight TimeSeconds from the muzzle to the target, the same for every strand of a shell (they hit together). 0 = each particle's own Lifetime. | float | 2.5 |
| Time VarianceEach shell's Flight Time varies by up to ± this many seconds. | float | 0.5 |
| ClusterA shell is every particle the emitter fires at once (Count): each becomes a strand this far (scene units) around the shell's line, winding around the others and meeting them again at the target. 0 = all on one line. | float | 0.03 |
| TwistHow many turns the strands wind around each other on the way. Negative turns the other way; each shell picks its own hand. | float | 2.5 |
| Keep In ViewHolds the whole flight inside the camera's picture (the Particle System's Camera, or the default view): 0.85 keeps it within 85% of the frame, 0 lets it fly anywhere. | float | 0.85 |
| PliesGathers the strands into this many tight plies (2–8), so the shell flies as a rope. Cluster is the rope's radius, Twist its turns. 0 keeps loose strands. | int | 0 |
| WeaveWith Plies: 0 twists the plies around each other like a rope, 1 braids them over and under like a plait. | float | 0 |
| Target PointsPoints to land on — a text's outlines (Text Targets), any cloud. The rope flies to their centre and opens onto them; each particle keeps the points it was fired at. | structure | — |
| OpenWith Target Points: the last part of the flight (0.3 = 30 %) over which the rope opens, every strand leaving its place for its own point. | float | 0.25 |
